BISP is Launched in July 2008 by, Pakistan Peoples Party started this Programme. This Programme is specially designed to facilitate the Poor household women of Pakistan and to reduce the poverty rate in Pakistan. Pakistan Peoples Party has taken this Step when they were in Govt. BISP Programme still continues in the Country under the Name of Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. After Completing 5 Years of Govt Pakistan Muslim League N again started this program.

When BISP Income Support Programme was Started in 2008 By the Prime Minister of the Pakistan People’s Party Yousuf Raza Gillani appointed Farzana Raja as a chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme, the EX Federal Minister. The actual purpose of this program was to empower household women who are living below the poverty ratio.
After Pakistan People’s Party Govt, 2013 Pakistan Muslim League appointed Maryam Nawaz as the Chairperson of Benazir Income Support. But a Few Months Later Lahore High Court Ordered Federal Govt to remove Maryam Nawaz from the Chairperson designation.
After The Decision of the Lahore High Court, Marvi Memon who was a Member of the National Assembly Joined PML-N, and Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif appointed her as the Chairperson of this Programme. Marvi Memon served as the Chairperson of the Programme.
Increase in Budget
The program provides Social safety to the poorest people in the country, the mission of this program was to empower Poor women especially divorced and widows, and they achieved this goal in 2 years. The Budget increases the budget from 75 billion to 112 billion. The quarterly stipend increased from 3,000 to 47,00 in 2015 to 16.

BISP Income Support Programme aim is to empower women by sending Payments to their accounts by acquiring their CNIC to make this process transparent later on the biometric system was introduced which still exists. The Payment Provided to the beneficiaries is enough for their monthly ration, like flour and meat.

Sania Nishter Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme has said that govt decided to introduce the biometric system to make the Benazir income support program transparent. She said that this step is taken by govt because there are many complaints of Corruption. Many retailers were giving 3,000 only out of 5,000. So Govt decided to make this Programme transparent. This system will be helpful for the poor in the future. Official knows that the present system is not Transparent but Govt and BISP Officials are trying to make this System transparent and trying to stop corruption.

New Biometric Bisp Payment Method introduced

Benazir Income Support Programme officials decided to change the method of Payment from ATM cards to the Biometric system with this system beneficiaries can get their Payments by verifying thumb impressions. They started this mod in a few districts official said that in 2016 this process will be complete. A Biometric system will be beneficial for cardholders. They get rid of the problems they are facing like a forgotten pin or Loss of an ATM card and again the process of card issuance so they decide to make it a clean and easier way to deliver money to beneficiaries.
Important Notice
Many fraud people started sending Fake Messages and calling people whom they rewarded with cash from the Benazir income support program and in return send some money via easy load. Kindly ignore their calls and messages and do not send money to these people they are making poor people fool, just contact the Benazir income support office directly.
